Take your first screenshot

1. Open Kovadh from Applications. Its Capture Hub remains available from the menu bar while Kovadh is running.
2. Select the Capture Hub item and choose what you want to capture.
3. Choose Screenshot, then select a display, region, or window when prompted.
4. Review the capture in Kovadh, make any edits you need, then save, copy, export, or share it.

The primary Capture action is always a screenshot. Use the same Capture Hub to open recording and other capture tools.

Choose a screenshot mode

Use Screenshot to capture a Full Display, Selected Region, Window, or supported Scrolling Capture.

Recent Captures

Your most recent screenshots are available in Recent Captures. By default, Kovadh saves up to 10 flattened PNG screenshots in ~/Pictures/Kovadh/Recent Captures, so they remain easy to find after closing the Capture Hub. From the Hub, open the folder, copy, save, open, or delete an item.

Choose Open File in the Capture Hub to edit an existing image or movie. Opening a file does not copy it to Recent Captures.

Record your screen

Recording is included with Kovadh Pro. Open the Capture Hub, choose Recording, then select Full Display, Selected Region, or Single Window.

Before recording starts, Kovadh checks the target and permissions needed for your selected options. If you include a microphone, system audio, or camera, their state remains visible while recording. Use the recording controls to stop and, where available, pause. Press Escape to cancel a region selection or countdown.

Completed recording projects are kept locally by default in ~/Movies/Kovadh/Recordings.

Edit without changing the original

Kovadh keeps editing non-destructive: crops, annotations, adjustments, trims, captions, and other edit operations do not alter the original source asset. You can return to a project and change those decisions later.

Available tools

Image tools include crop, resize, rotate, flip, colour adjustments, text, arrows, shapes, highlights, blur, and redaction. Video projects can include trimming, splitting, joining, framing, audio choices, camera layout, live annotations, and captions.

Use Secure Redaction for sensitive information

Use Secure Redaction when information must not be recoverable from an exported file. A secure-redaction export creates a new, flattened artifact in which the covered content is removed.

Export and share deliberately

When you export or share, review the output options and destination before transfer. Depending on the selected export, you can choose settings such as captions, audio and camera tracks, editability, and metadata handling.

Kovadh transfers content only after you explicitly choose an export, share destination, or integration. Before sending sensitive material outside your Mac, review the selected file and destination carefully. An editable project may retain its original source; use a flattened secure export for sharing content that contains secure redactions.

Control local history and deletion

Kovadh is designed to keep your content on your Mac. It does not automatically upload capture content or put screen content, audio, OCR text, captions, or project data in logs, analytics, diagnostics, or crash reports. Search and optional OCR or caption indexes are local.

Use Private Mode when you do not want new history, thumbnails, OCR indexing, or Recent Captures bookkeeping for a capture. You can also manage local history, retention, and deletion in Kovadh’s settings.

Deleting an item removes Kovadh’s managed local files and references. It cannot remove copies you exported, shared, backed up, or that macOS retained in snapshots or backups.

Manage permissions

Kovadh explains why a permission is needed before macOS asks for it. If a capture feature cannot start, open Settings in Kovadh and check the relevant permission. You can also use Set Up All Permissions in the Capture Hub; macOS may then direct you to Privacy & Security settings to enable access manually.

• Screen Recording is required for screenshots and screen recordings.
• Microphone is required only when you choose microphone audio.
• Camera is required only when you choose camera recording.

After changing a permission in macOS, return to Kovadh and try the capture again. If a selected window or display has closed, changed, or become unavailable, select it again.

What is included with each plan?

Kovadh Free is available indefinitely and includes screenshot capture, editing, history, export, Secure Redaction, Safe Share, and privacy verification.

Kovadh Pro adds recording, camera recording, local analysis, Documentation Builder, automation, and integrations. The introductory price is £14.99 for the first year, then £24.99 per year; it renews automatically unless cancelled. The purchase screen in Kovadh shows the price available to your App Store account before you confirm a purchase.

Manage or cancel an App Store subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. If Pro ends, the Free features remain available.

Include these details

• Your Kovadh version and macOS version.
• What you were trying to do and the steps that led to the problem.
• The exact wording of any error message.
• Whether the issue concerns screenshots, recording, editing, export, permissions, or a purchase.

For your privacy, do not send screenshots, recordings, source files, project packages, passwords, access tokens, or other sensitive content unless Byldya support explicitly asks for a particular file and you have reviewed it first.
